Gretna Youth Wrestling

Novice Program

The Novice program is divided into two divisions, beginner and intermediate.  The beginner is for any wrestler with 0-2 years experience and the intermediate is for any wrestler that has 3 years or more experience and is not quite ready or old enough for the competitive division.  In the Novice division, the kids will learn the basics of wrestling and learn to love the sport.  The kids must be at least 4 years old by the start of practice.

The cost for the Novice program is $75 for the season, which runs from the beginning of December until the end of February.  We do provide a singlet, but ask for a $75 deposit fee.  When the singlet is returned at the end of the season, we give you back your deposit fee.

We will have the kids register for 3-4 tournaments each season.  We will recommend the tournaments to register for.  Any tournament we recommend, there will always be a coach there.  You will be responsible for registering your child for the tournaments and cost is anywhere from $15-$20 per tournament.

Practices will be at Aspen Creek Middle School in the room across from the gym.  The practice nights will be as follows:
       Monday - 6:30pm - 7:45pm     ~   This practice is for beginner wrestlers
       Tuesday - 6:30pm - 7:45pm    ~   This practice is for intermediate wrestlers
       Thursday - 6:0pm - 7:00pm   ~   Beginner wrestlers
       Thursday - 7:00pm - 8:15pm   ~   Intermediate wrestlers
